An internal chatbot that answers employees' questions about their own pay: how their salary is structured, what their pay band and range are, how raises and bonuses are decided, and our overall compensation philosophy. It reads from our existing compensation policies and the employee's own pay data and only explains things — it never changes pay or makes decisions.

The solution

Build an internal chatbot for employees to ask questions about their own pay. The bot answers in plain language using the organization’s compensation policies, FAQ documents, pay band definitions, and the logged-in employee’s own salary and band placement from the HRIS. Every answer should include links back to the relevant policy source. v1 should strictly do explanation only: no pay recommendations, no simulation of future raises, no comparisons to coworkers, no manager-facing views, no write-back to HRIS, and no decisions of any kind.
