A merit-increase recommendation tool for people managers. At review time it pulls each employee's current salary, latest performance rating, time in role, and their position within their pay band, then suggests a recommended raise percentage and new salary. It flags anyone who would fall below their band minimum or exceed the band maximum, lets managers adjust within configured guardrails, and routes the proposal to HR and Finance for approval.
The solution
Build a v1 internal web tool for merit-cycle planning that reads employee compensation inputs from the HRIS and pay-band spreadsheet, calculates a recommended raise percentage and new salary for each employee, shows band-position and policy flags, lets managers adjust within configured guardrails, and routes proposals to HR and Finance for approval with a full audit trail. Out of scope for v1: direct write-back into the HRIS, automatic final salary changes, market pricing creation, bonus/equity planning, and changing performance ratings inside the tool.
